Biography

Dr. Shana Mashego holds a Doctoral degree in Ethnomusicology and Voice from The University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and has enjoyed a rich career filled with serving students from many parts of the world and service to global citizens in the non-profit sector. Dr. Mashego’s love for teaching began with her training and service at the Center for English as a Second Language at The University of Arizona. Her love for teaching grew into many years of service in the college-level Intensive English classroom including work with the Texas Southern University Arabic Bridge Intensive English Program and the Lone Star College Intensive English Program in Houston, Texas. Dr. Mashego also holds the Master Level TEFL/TESOL Certification with accreditation by the International Accreditation and Recognition Council and she continually seeks out opportunities to develop as an effective Instructor and as a sociocultural researcher. Dr. Mashego’s passion for teaching is evidenced by her highly-energized teaching style and the sincerity of focus that she bestows upon each of her students.
